SAINT ROSE WELCOMES POST UNIVERSITY TONIGHT

Saint Rose welcomes Post University to Nolan Gymnasium at 7:00 pm tonight
ALBANY -  The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team returns to action tonight. The Golden Knights (2-2) are set to welcome Post University (0-8) to Nolan Gymnasium for a 7:00 pm non-conference match. The Golden Knights are coming off of a 3-0 win versus Dominican College in their 2011 home opener last Thursday, while the Eagles dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions to Merrimack College and Franklin Pierce University on Saturday.

LAST MEETING (October 13, 2010)
Saint Rose won the final two sets by a collective five points as the Golden Knights defeated Post University 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23) in a non-conference match last October 13. Senior outside hitter Sarah Kahrs wound up with 12 kills and 10 digs, while middle hitter Kelly Ryan hit .421 with 11 kills in 19 swings and a mere three errors. Additionally, sophomore outside hitter Christina Strezenec led the back row with 14 digs. Post was hampered by 13 attack errors throughout the final two sets. Regardless, senior right side hitter Elizabeth Knight and sophomore middle hitter Stephanie Zarakas led the way with eight kills apiece.

SCOUTING SAINT ROSE (2-2)
The Golden Knights have won two in a row following a 3-0 sweep of Dominican College last Thursday in their 2011 home opener. Saint Rose forced 24 attack errors and committed only 10 of its own in the contest. Senior outside hitter Aubrey Bobo led a balanced attack with 11 kills, six digs and a .333 hitting percentage. Meanwhile, Kahrs collected nine kills, six digs and a pair of aces.

On the defensive side of the net, freshmen defensive specialists Katy Daniels and Tori Daniels each had outstanding performances. Katy led the Golden Knights with 17 digs, while her twin sister Tori picked up eight digs and handed out 11 assists.

Bobo paces Saint Rose and is fifth in the league with 43 kills (3.07 k/s) and a .264 hitting percentage. She also ranks second on the squad with 33 digs (2.36 d/s) at this juncture.

Freshman setter Ariana Wilson and Tori Daniels have combined to handle the setting duties thus far. Wilson has 82 assists (5.47 a/s), while Daniels has handed out 52 (3.47 a/s). Katy Daniels paces the defense with 56 digs (3.73 d/s) and has served up a team-high nine aces as well.

SCOUTING POST (0-8)
The Eagles are still in search of their first win of the 2011 campaign. Post suffered a pair of 3-0 setbacks against Northeast-10 Conference members Merrimack College and Franklin Pierce University on Saturday.
 
Sophomore middle hitter Belinda Snider has been a bright spot for the Eagles thus far. Snider leads the team with 64 kills (2.67 k/s) and 10 blocks (0.42 b/s). Meanwhile, senior setter Taylor Doyle has dished out 146 assists (6.07 a/s) and picked up 38 digs (1.58 d/s).

UP NEXT
Saint Rose continues its non-conference slate this Friday. The Golden Knights will travel to Mercy College for a 7:00 pm date in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Post hits the court again Thursday night. The Eagles play host to Concordia College at 7:00 pm in what marks their 2011 home opener.
