ALBANY – C.W. Post shot a blistering 66.7 percent (20-for-30) from the floor throughout the second half to break open a four point game at the break on the way to a 97-83 victory over The College of Saint Rose today to conclude an opening weekend of four games at the Saint Rose Tip-Off Tournament that was held at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Sophomore forward Dominykas Milka recorded a career-high 31 points in 29 minutes of reserve duty to lead the way for the Golden Knights (0-2). Milka connected on 12-of-20 shots from the floor and also added six boards and four assists on the day. Senior forward Brian Hanuschak had a “double-double” behind 21 rebounds and 10 caroms as well.

Junior guard Tobin Carberry poured in 37 points to lead five players in double-figures for the Pioneers (2-0), who were the lone squad to escape this weekend with an unblemished record intact.

The lead changed hands seven times in the first half. Milka broke a 29-29 tie with a pair of free throws and back-to-back layups to provide Saint Rose with a 35-29 edge with 1:49 until intermission. However, C.W. Post responded with a 10-0 run that Carberry capped with a fast break layup to send the Pioneers into the locker room up four, 39-35.

The Golden Knights were still right there when Hanuschak fed Milka in the paint to knot things at 54-54 with 12:39 to go. C.W. Post found an answer yet again by outscoring the Golden Knights 31-10 over the next seven minutes to pull away.

In today's first game, Saint Anselm generated 32 points off 25 Concordia turnovers to easily put away the Clippers 86-59. Freshman guard Roy Mabrey went 9-for-11 from the floor on the way to a game-high 25 points for the Hawks (1-1). Junior forward Argelix Gil paved the way for Concordia. Gil nearly missed his second straight “double-double” behind 21 points and nine boards.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights will open up Northeast-10 Conference play Wednesday night at the University of New Haven. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm. Meanwhile, C.W. Post heads to Chestnut Hill for a 7:00 pm date, Saint Anselm returns home to host Stonehill and Concordia welcomes NYIT Wednesday evening as well.
