SAINT ROSE TO HOST MERRIMACK IN FINAL MATCH OF 2011 CAMPAIGN

Saint Rose plays host to Merrimack at 4:00 pm today in its 2011 regular-season finale
ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team is scheduled to compete in its 2011 regular-season finale this evening as the Golden Knights welcome Merrimack College to Sullivan Field. The contest is slated to start at 4:00 pm.

Last Meeting (September 18, 2010)
Merrimack scored twice in the opening 15 minutes on the way to a 4-0 victory against Saint Rose last September 18 in North Andover, MA. Senior forward Robbie Sabadoz set up the first two strikes and added one of his own less than a minute prior to halftime to afford Merrimack a 3-0 lead at the break.

Junior forward Franklin Pena scored what held up as the game-winner at the 3:26 mark, before senior midfielder Matt McFadden made it 2-0 some 11 minutes later with his first goal of the season. Junior forward Olof Lindhe then found the back of the net with 30 minutes remaining in the contest to close out the scoring.

Senior keeper Patrik Ohlsson made eight saves for the Golden Knights, including five in the second half.

Scouting Saint Rose (1-15-0/0-12-0 NE-10)
The Golden Knights are coming off of a 1-0 double-overtime loss at Stonehill on Saturday. Their last four games have each been decided by one goal and two contests were settled in the second overtime session. Six players  have found the back of the net so far this season for Saint Rose.

Junior forward Giancarlo Montenegro and sophomore midfielder Dylan Klippenstein lead the way with three points apiece. They each have one goal and one assist. Meanwhile, Ohlsson is tied for the league lead with 85 saves having playing all but 32:23 in goal. He turned aside a season-high 11 shots in Saturday's setback.

Scouting Merrimack (8-6-3/6-5-1 NE-10)
The Warriors have locked up a spot in the NE-10 Tournament despite Tuesday's 3-2 loss at Saint Michael's. Merrimack is currently tied for seventh with Southern Connecticut State, but owns the tiebreaker after defeating the Owls 2-1 back on October 1.

Sophomore forward Francis Mulkern and Sabadoz have proven to be imposing threats up top for the Warriors. Mulkern ranks third in the league with nine markers, while Sabadoz is on his heels with seven goals and three assists.

Sophomore keeper Mattias Drummond has made 14 starts in goal thus far. He owns a 1.52 goals-against-average with 47 saves and three shutouts.
