KUTZTOWN, PA – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team got its 2010 season underway with a 3-0 setback versus C.W. Post in a non-conference match at the Kutztown University Classic today. This afternoon's tilt marked the first of a three-match stint at the tournament.

Junior outside hitter Sarah Kahrs led the Golden Knights' (0-1) attack with eight kills. Meanwhile, senior middle hitter Kelly Ryan finished with six kills in 18 attempts without an error to go along with five blocks.

Additionally for Saint Rose, junior setter Theresa Staulo passed out 22 assists and freshman middle hitter Alex Gagliano had a stellar outing in her first match in a Saint Rose uniform. Gagliano contributed five kills in eight attempts without an error as well as seven blocks.

The Golden Knights return to action tomorrow with two more matches on tap. Saint Rose takes on West Chester at 10:00 am before meeting the host Golden Bears at 2:00 pm to cap their stay at the Kutztown Classic. The Pioneers are set to meet West Chester at 7:00 pm tonight before squaring off against Le Moyne and Kutztown tomorrow afternoon.
