GOLDEN KNIGHTS WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT

Senior guard Jermaine Clark had 15 to points to move into 11th place among the College's all-time scoring leaders today.
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The College of Saint Rose shot better than 50.0 percent from the floor for the sixth time in the last eight games and furthermore put five players in double-figures scoring for the sixth time this season en route to an 82-74 Northeast-10 Conference victory at Pace University this afternoon.

Freshman guard Andre Pope finished with 24 points, six rebounds and four assists to lead the Golden Knights (14-10/11-8 NE-10) who have now won four straight. Senior guard Jermaine Clark tossed in 15 points to move past Ralfs Jansons ('92-'96) into 11th place on the College' all-time scoring list (1,389). Sophomore forward Sheldon Griffin added 11 points, while senior forward Malcolm Williams and sophomore guard Shea Bromirski scored 10 apiece.

Saint Rose took off on a 14-3 run at the 7:40 mark of the first half that transformed a four point, 19-15, deficit into a seven point, 29-22, cushion with 3:14 to go. Clark converted a layup to get it going, Williams scored inside to tie it at 19-19 and Pope finished a fast break and knocked down a 3-pointer that put the Golden Knights ahead, 24-20, to stay with five minutes left until intermission.

Saint Rose eventually went into the locker room up 39-29 and boosted its advantage to as many as 16, 50-34, following a Williams free throw at the 14:10 mark of the second stanza. The Setters (10-14/8-11 NE-10) whittled their deficit to five, 58-53, throughout the ensuing seven minutes. However, Griffin followed back-to-back treys by Bromirski with a layup to boost the Golden Knights cushion to 11, 68-57, with 4:29 to go.

Pace made one final push to get it back to a six point ballgame, 72-66, with 1:46 showing on the clock, but a pair of free throws by sophomore guard Rob Gutierrez and another from freshman forward Devin Grimes put the Golden Knights in control via a nine point, 75-66, advantage with 1:24 showing on the clock.

Senior guard Carlos Howard led Pace with 18 points; while sophomore guard Delroy Daley, senior guard Callum Jones, and freshman forward David Eismeier had 14 points apiece.
