COLCHESTER, VT – Less than 24-hours after dropping a five-set heartbreaker in Northeast-10 Conference action, The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team rallied from one set down to take a 3-2 (19-25, 25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 22-20) victory at Saint Michael's College. It marked the first five-set win for the Golden Knights in five tries this season, while the Purple Knights have now lost four of their last five.
Saint Rose (6-15/3-6 NE-10) fought off three match points by Saint Michael's and junior outside hitter
Sarah Kahrs punctuated the triumph for the Golden Knights with one of her season-high 19 kills off a feed from junior setter
Theresa Staulo. Staulo delivered a solid all-around performance herself after finishing with 45 assists, eight digs, six kills and four aces.

Christina Strezenec also made significant contributions for Saint Rose. Ryan wound up with 15 kills and two blocks, while Strezenec hit .333 with 13 kills and a match-high 21 digs.
The Purple Knights (8-9/3-5 NE-10) received outstanding performances from senior middle hitter Lindsey Frazier and freshman middle hitter Chelsey Covitz. Frazier hit .424 with 17 kills and a mere three errors in 33 attempts, while Covitz had a .433 hitting percentage with 15 kills and just two errors in 30 swings.
In the fifth set, the Golden Knights grabbed a 20-19 lead when sophomore defensive specialist
Nikki Robitaille served up an ace. Frazier knotted things 20-20 with a kill, but Strezenec and Kahrs delivered back-to-back kills of their own to provide the final margin.
Saint Rose returns to league action Wednesday night when the Golden Knights host Pace University at 7:00 pm at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. Saint Michael's hits the court again tomorrow as the Purple Knights welcome Le Moyne College for a 1:00 pm NE-10 affair.
