BALANCED SCORING PROPELS GOLDEN KNIGHTS PAST FRANKLIN PIERCE

Sophomore forward Brian Hanuschak had 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in today's victory at Franklin Pierce.
RINDGE. NH – The College of Saint Rose had five players in double-figures scoring for the second straight game that resulted in an 82-73 victory this afternoon at Northeast-10 Conference rival Franklin Pierce. Saint Rose (9-5/6-3 NE-10) held the Ravens (6-7/2-7 NE-10) to just 35.2 percent (25-for-71) shooting from the floor on the way to its eighth victory in its last 10 outings.

Sophomore center Brian Hanuschak recorded his fourth “double-double” of the year behind 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. Sophomore guard Shea Bromirski led all scorers with 22 points, while senior guard Jermaine Clark finished with 16 points and four assists. Furthermore, freshman forward Devin Grimes added 15 points, while freshman guard Andre Pope contributed 11 points and six assists.

Saint Rose asserted itself from the get-go by jumping out to a 14 point, 21-7; lead seven minutes in after Grimes drained a jumper and finished inside. The Ravens eventually whittled their deficit to four via a 12-4 run that made it a 23-19 ballgame with 7:45 to go until the break. However, Pope finished a conventional three-point play and drained a jumper from the arc to put the Golden Knights back up by 10. The lead eventually blossomed into a 15 point, 43-28, halftime advantage.

The Golden Knights then maintained a double-digit cushion throughout all but the final 22 seconds to run their win streak to three games.

Junior guard Kinard Dozier led Franklin Pierce with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while senior center Terrell Ray finished with 14 points and nine boards. Junior guard Jeff Manchester and freshman guard Curtis Christian tossed in 11 points apiece, and freshman guard Eric Jean-Guillaume finished with 10 points, five assists and five steals.

Up next, both teams have 7:30 pm league games on tap for Tuesday. The Golden Knights will host Southern New Hampshire, while the Ravens are scheduled to visit New Haven.
