SAINT ROSE DROPS 75-69 NON-LEAGUE GAME AT C.W. POST

Sophomore guard Shea Bromirski led Saint Rose with 17 points to go with four assists
BROOKVILLE, NY – C.W. Post used an 11-3 run midway through the second half en route to a 75-69 win over The College of Saint Rose men's basketball team tonight at the Pratt Recreation Center. The host Pioneers (4-4) also received 28 points from their bench and forced the Golden Knights (6-5) into 18 turnovers.

Four players reached double-figures in scoring led by sophomore guard Shea Bromirski who finished with 17 points to go with four assists. Freshman guard Andre Pope wound up with 16 points, while sophomore forward Brian Hanuschak added 13 points and eight boards.

Furthermore, senior guard Jermaine Clark contributed 11 points behind a trio of 3-pointers.

C.W. Post senior forward Nemanja Jokic led all scorers with 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds and handed out three assists. Meanwhile, junior forward Aaron Hall and freshman guard Jonathan Kohler tossed in 14 points apiece.

Saint Rose trailed by 10, 39-29, just more than four minutes into the second half before embarking on a 16-6 jaunt that made it a 45-45 ballgame with 10:30 on the clock. Clark knocked down a pair of treys during the run and Pope capped things off with a “three” of his own to rally the Golden Knights.

The Pioneers then outscored Saint Rose 21-11 over the next seven minutes to boost their advantage back to 10, 66-56, with 3:29 to play. The Golden Knights never got closer than six points the rest of the way, thus falling for the fourth time in five road games this season.

Saint Rose returns to action Wednesday night for another non-league game against Mercy College. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. Admission to the game will be just $1. C.W. Post also returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Daemen College at 6:00 pm as part of its own Holiday Invitational Tournament.
