Biography

GENERAL: A team captain…Graduate student who was a four-year member of the cross country squad, although he did not run this fall after using up his eligibility in 2007…Was both a Northeast-10 Conference All-League and Academic All-Conference honoree last season for cross country…Also served as a team captain…Team’s top returnee in the distance events… Listed current L.A. Dodgers coach Don Mattingly as the athlete he most admires…Said his grandfather is a person who has had a great deal of influence on him...Works as a tutor for business and accounting students in the College’s Academic Support Center…Runs his own lawn care business.

AS A JUNIOR: Set both the 3000 and 5000 meter run school indoor records and was also part of the indoor record 4x880 relay squads…Ran the 3000 in 8:59.9 at the Williams Invitational (1/19/08) and clocked a winning time of 15:32.20 for the 5000 at the Smith Tartan Invite (2/9/08)…4x880 quartet ran a second place time of 9:00.28 at Williams…Was second in the 5000 behind a 15:45.93 clocking at the NE-10 Indoor Championships (2/23/08) that were hosted by Southern Connecticut State…Also took sixth in the mile with a season best indoor time of 4:28.10 at the Wesleyan Invitational (1/26/08)…Took fourth at 5000 meters outdoors with a time of 16:04.51 at the Hamilton Invite (4/19/08)…Took third in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a season-best time of 9:43.21 at the NE-10 Championships (5/3/08) that were hosted by Bryant…Earned prestigious All-Academic Award from the USTFCCCA during the winter…Garnered All-Conference accolades in the 5000 meter run indoors…Garnered NE-10 All-Academic accolades in recognition of outstanding athletic and academic achievement during the spring…Also chosen to NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in recognition of superior academic performance.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Registered a seventh place finish in the mile at the NE-10 Indoor Championships (2/19/07) with a time of 4:33.22…Also took 11th in the 3,000 meter run in 10:02.15…Specialized in the 3,000 meter steeplechase during the outdoor campaign…Finished first in consecutive events to open the season…Captured top honors at the RPI Invitational (3/31/07) in 10:06.15 and ran a 10:04.78 one week later to come away victorious at the Bryant Invitational (4/7/07)…Scored at the NE-10 Outdoor Championships by completing the race in a fourth place time of 9:53.48.

AS A FRESHMAN: Recorded top-three finishes on four occasions throughout the season…Ran a personal best time of 10:05.78 in the 3000 meter steeplechase en route to a third place finish at the NE-10 Championships (5/6/06)…Also crossed the line third at the Middlebury Invitational (4/1/06) after clocking a 10:24.69…Ran a 34:28.79 in the 10,000 meter run at the Bryant Invitational (4/8/06)…Also competed in the 1500 meter run at the UAlbany Spring Classic (4/22/06) where he finished eighth in 4:17.11…Named to the NE-10 Commissioners Honor Roll as a Gold Scholar at season’s end.

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in indoor and outdoor track along with cross country for the Flying Horses…Finished second at the Big 10 Conference cross country championship meet as a junior…Named a first-team Big 10 All-Star as both a junior and senior…Won the indoor mile at the conference championships in 2003 and the outdoor mile title in 2004.
