FOUR GOLDEN KNIGHTS EARN ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE ACCOLADES FOR THE SPRING SEASON

NE10 Announcement
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Four student-athletes from The College of Saint Rose have been named to their respective Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference Teams for the 2022 spring sports season. One of the league's most prominent awards, the quartet is part of an exclusive contingent of 130 student-athletes league wide who are being recognized for outstanding academic and athletic performance.

Each of the Golden Knights four honorees not only have excelled athletically, but they all own overall grade-point-averages of 3.69 or higher.

To be eligible for an NE10 Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following requirements: started in at least half or played in at least two-thirds of the team's competitions as a significant contributor, must have completed at least two consecutive semesters of full-time enrollment at their current institution, and have achieved a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.00 scale).

The Saint Rose group is made up of Erika Fuentes of the women's golf squad, first baseman Madison Chandler and outfielder Ciana Phillips from the softball team, and catcher Derek Haughey of the baseball team.

Fuentes, a business administration major, won five tournaments and finished in the top-five in all 10 events this year on the way to garnering NE10 first-team All-Conference accolades for the second consecutive year. She was also named to the NE10 Championship All-Tournament Team.

A childhood and special education major and a first-team All-League honoree, Chandler led the Golden Knights in batting (.369), slugging percentage (.475), OPS (.881), and RBI (29), and finished ninth in the NE10 in hits (52) this past spring.

Phillips, a finance/MBA major, garnered third-team All-Conference honors after recording a .316 batting average with 29 runs scored. She was also successful in seven of her eight stolen base attempts.

Another business administration major, Haughey hit at a .311 clip, with 24 runs scored, 28 RBI and an .832 OPS.
