ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose is off to the best start in program history following today's 13-7 victory against Post University at Sullivan Field at The Plumeri Sports Complex. The Golden Knights have now won three straight within the past six days to go to 4-1 on the season with their only setback an 11-8 loss at #5 Mercy College two weeks ago.

"I'm proud of our team. It's not easy to go out and win three games in six days. We are a determined group and continue to work hard. We demonstrated today the toughness needed to finish out a long week," said Head Coach
Alex Williams.

Saint Rose scored four of the last five goals in the first quarter to put itself in the catbird seat and surrendered only a pair of strikes throughout the second half.

Eight players figured in the goal scoring column for the Golden Knights who engineered a 57-38 shot advantage, including a 30-18 shot-on-goal cushion, and a plus-10 turnover differential.

Junior midfielder
Gabriel Nish finished with three goals and a pair of assists and fifth-year midfielder
John Loughlin recorded a pair of strikes and two assists to lead the offense. Junior attack
Eddie Baker and fifth-year attack
Jack Pemrick also scored twice.

Sophomore defenseman
Edward Wurszt caused three Post (0-2) miscues, while junior defenseman
Riley Hauf and sophomore defenseman
Walter Ross were responsible for two apiece. Junior goalie
Ryan Fleming came up with 11 saves to improve to 3-0 on the season.

It was a tight affair early with the clubs deadlocked 2-2 in the opening four and a half minutes. However, Pemrick converted a feed from freshman midfielder
Nathan Ham in a man-up situation with 7:26 remaining to put Saint Rose ahead to stay. Junior attack
Anthony Barone made it 4-2 less than a minute later, before Baker and junior attack
Cam Smith struck in the final 49 seconds to afford the Golden Knights a 6-3 lead after the first quarter.

The two sides traded a pair of goals in the second period to make it 8-5 at intermission. Nish then struck twice within a six-minute span in the third to put the Golden Knights in control at 10-5.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is back home Wednesday to take on Caldwell at 4:00 pm. Post gets back on the road Tuesday for a 3:00 pm date at Saint Thomas Aquinas.
