GARDEN CITY N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose kept itself within striking distance of the nation's third-ranked team throughout the opening 15 minutes before falling 7-4 at Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi tonight.

The Golden Knights (5-4/0-2 NE10) were within a goal at 2-1 following the first quarter, but the Panthers (6-0/4-0 NE10) registered five of the ensuing six scores to keep its season-long unblemished record intact.

John Loughlin accounted for the four Saint Rose tallies. Meanwhile, junior goalie
Ryan Fleming recorded a season-high 18 saves. Pemrick also came up with four grounds balls, while Baker scooped up three.

Graduate student midfielder James Hall, sophomore attack Jason Rebaudo, and senior attack Joseph Duchnowski had two goals apiece for Adelphi, which entered the evening ninth in the country with a +6.0 scoring margin. Graduate student midfielders Sean McGovern and Brian Hoerter each came up with five ground balls, while sophomore goalie Dylan Renner turned aside 13 on-target shots.

The Panthers twice found the cage a minute part midway through the second period to afford themselves a 4-1 halftime advantage. The Golden Knights showed their mettle though as Pemrick finished a feed from freshman midfielder
Brady Frys with 11:02 to go in the third to again make it a two-score affair.

It was still a two-goal contest until the final 1:19 of the third when Adelphi scored twice within a 52-second span to boost its cushion to 6-2 heading to the fourth. The Panthers made it 7-2 with 6:26 remaining in the final period before Baker and Loughlin closed out the scoring for the evening.

Looking ahead, both squads have road NE10 dates Saturday. Saint Rose heads to Springfield to face American International at 7:00 pm, while the Panthers travel farther east to Worcester, Mass. to meet Assumption at 3:00 pm.
