NATION’S TOP SCORING OFFENSE DEFEATS SAINT ROSE

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The nation's top scoring team proved too much for The College of Saint Rose as host Roberts Wesleyan won its third straight behind tonight's 18-7 victory.

The Redhawks (6-1), who entered this evening averaging 17.50 goals per game, scored four unanswered strikes over the final 4:36 of the first period to put themselves in control with a 6-2 advantage after the initial 15 minutes. They eventually walked in the locker room up 12-4 at intermission.

Seven different Saint Rose players found the back of the net. Fifth year midfielder Jack Pemrick, junior attacks Cam Smith, Sam Giachinta, and Eddie Baker; along with freshman midfielder Nathan Ham, fifth year attack Brendan Sheedy, and junior midfielder Gabriel Nish accounted for the Golden Knights (5-3) strikes.

In the back, junior defenseman Riley Hauf caused three turnovers while junior goalie Ryan Fleming recorded 16 saves throughout 52 minutes.

Meanwhile, senior attack Nate Mahoney and junior attack Reid Jackowski paced the prolific Roberts Wesleyan offense. The former finished with five goals and an assist, while Jackowski scored four times and set up three others. Senior defenseman Anthony Diamico caused six Golden Knights miscues.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose returns to Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday with a 7:00 pm date at Adelphi on Long Island. The Redhawks are back home Saturday to host East Coast Conference rival Frostburg State at noon.
Notes: The Golden Knights' five wins this spring are already the third highest in program history…They won nine games in 2018 and seven in their inaugural 2012 campaign…Baker leads the squad with 30 points on 23 goals and seven assists…Smith follows with 26 points on 22 goals and four helpers…Sophomore defenseman Walter Ross leads the team with 12 caused turnovers.
