GOLDEN KNIGHTS HAVE FOUR-GAME WIN STREAK SNAPPED


ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose had its four-game win streak snapped with today's 73-56 loss to visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Pace University.
 
Saint Rose got off to a good start by going 6-for-9 from the floor to take a 15-6 lead in the opening five minutes. However, the Golden Knights went 4-for-18 the rest of the period, while the Setters canned 57.1 percent (16-for-28) of their shots to go up 42-26 at intermission.
 
It remained a double-digit ballgame throughout the second half.
 
Overall, Saint Rose was hurt by 3-for-21 shooting from the arc. Pace (14-8/10-5 NE10) also turned 18 Saint Rose miscues into 25 points to win its third straight.
 
Sophomore forward Eric Fleming and freshman forward Shane O'Dell scored 15 points apiece to lead the Golden Knights (10-8/7-6 NE10). O'Dell also had eight rebounds, while sophomore swing Cartier Bowman contributed 10 points.
 
Graduate student guard Brandon Jacobs scored 15 points, handed out three assists, and came up with a like number of steals to lead five Setters in double-figures scoring. Graduate student forward Dominick Cristiano had 13 points and nine rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.
 
Looking ahead, both teams have 7:30 pm road NE10 dates Tuesday. Saint Rose visits New Haven, while Pace travels to Southern Connecticut State.
Notes: This afternoon marked the team's sixth home game of the year…The Golden Knights have played 11 road dates…O'Dell was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season on Monday…He has been in double-figures scoring in 11 straight outings and remains among the conference's leading scorers and rebounders…He is fifth among the NE10 leaders with a 19.4 scoring average…He stands seventh behind 7.6 rebounds per game…Freshman guard Tray Alexander is eighth in the country and tops the league with 6.2 assists per outing…He is third in the conference with a 2.1 steals average.
