ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose defeated Georgian Court 21-4 today in the Golden Knights home-opener at the Plumeri Sports Complex.
Junior attack
Cam Smith tallied eight goals on the afternoon to lead the Saint Rose offensive onslaught, with the performance setting the men's program record for goals scored in a single game.

Eddie Baker added six goals, which also matched the previous Saint Rose high mark established by Brett McAuliffe (4/7/12) and Matt Graham (3/16/18).
The 21-goal team effort ranks as the second-most goals produced in a game by the Golden Knights, falling just shy of the school record of 23 goals scored against American International on 3/27/19.
"Today our men put together a full 60 minutes of team lacrosse. We played fast and opportunistically aggressive on defense," said Head Coach
Alex Williams. "It was also fun seeing some young guys step up and contribute some valuable time. Being able to play deep is extremely important to us, especially in a week with a short turnaround."
Saint Rose (2-1) netted the first six goals of the contest to establish control early. A quick strike by freshman midfielder
Nathan Ham with 26 seconds remaining in the second quarter wrapped a dominating opening half with the Golden Knights leading 11-2. Saint Rose would go on to score 13 consecutive goals after the halftime break to keep the margin out of reach.
Junior goalie
Ryan Fleming made 10 saves in between the pipes to earn the victory for Saint Rose. Senior goalie Sebastian Farah turned away six shots in net for Georgian Court (0-3).
Looking forward, both teams return to action with road contests on Wednesday. The Golden Knights travel to Orangeburg, N.Y. to face Dominican College at 4:00 pm, while the Lions visit #6 Adelphi for a 7:00 pm tilt.
