FLEMING TALLIES CAREER-HIGH 31 POINTS IN 84-67 WIN AGAINST GOLDLEY-BEACOM

ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose claimed a 84-67 victory over Goldey-Beacom tonight in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The Golden Knights would secure the non-conference win behind a 29-9 scoring rally over the Lightning that spanned the first and second halves.

Junior forward Eric Fleming lead all players with a career-high 31 points for Saint Rose. Fleming, who finished 11-for-19 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from deep, set the tone early for the Golden Knights with 17 points in the first half.

After a balanced first ten minutes saw the two squads level at 24-24, Saint Rose would own 17 of the final 21 points in the half to take a 13-point lead into the break.

A 12-5 run by the Golden Knights to begin the second half allowed the margin to balloon to 20 points, as the Saint Rose advantage would reach 28 in the middle stages of the final frame.

Sophomore forward Shane O'Dell finished two assists shy of a triple-double, as he tallied 10 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists. Sophomore guard Keegan Zoller was 2-of-3 from long range on his way to 12 points. Senior forward Josh McGettigan recorded 10 points and nine rebounds as well.

Freshman guard Zayon Marsh topped the Lightning with 19 points and seven rebounds. The Golden Knights would hit 10-of-30 (33.3 percent) as a team from three, while limiting Goldey-Beacom to 17.6 percent (3-of-17) from downtown. Saint Rose also converted 16 of its 18 free throw attempts.

Next up, the Golden Knights return to Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday at Southern Connecticut State, with tip-off coming at 3:30 pm between Saint Rose and the Owls.
