FLEMING LOGS 25-POINT, 14-REBOUND DOUBLE-DOUBLE AT NATIONALLY RANKED ST. THOMAS AQUINAS

SPARKILL, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose dropped a non-conference contest today at St. Thomas Aquinas. The Spartans, who most recently took the #23 rank in the NABC Coaches Poll and #25 spot in the D2SIDA National media rankings, relied on the long ball this afternoon, as the hosts hit 18 three pointers to take the 109-74 win.

After STAC opened up a 16-point first half lead, the Golden Knights would battle back, cutting the deficit to three on a three-pointer by junior forward Eric Fleming with 0:24 seconds left in the half. Saint Rose would go into the half down 56-51.

Fleming finished the game with a double-double, posting game-highs of 25 points (11-of-19) and 14 rebounds.

Saint Thomas Aquinas would pull away in the second half, paced by leading scorer Jamal Barnes, who would finish with 18 points. The Spartans shot 18-32 (56%) from behind the arc and scored 25 points off 20 Golden Knights turnovers.

Sophomore forward Shane O'Dell and freshman guard Latiek Briscoe also finished in double figures for the Golden Knights. O'Dell scored 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting, while Briscoe added 11 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and a steal.

Saint Rose will be back in action for a Northeast-10 Conference tilt with Pace University on December 31st at 3:30pm in Pleasantville, NY. Saint Thomas Aqiunas will next fave Adelphi on December 29th at 2:00 pm.
