Box Score WILMINGTON, Del.- The College of Saint Rose secured its first victory of the season today with a 44-point triumph over Wilmington University. Saint Rose had four players finish in double-figures and outshot the the host Wildcats 42.3 percent to 27.5 percent to earn the 84-40 win.
Sophomore forward Kaileigh Hunt and sophomore guard Catherine Finnerty topped the Golden Knights with 16 points apiece, while freshman guard Aniya McDonald-Perry recorded her second consecutive double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Hunt was active on the boards as well with nine rebounds.
Senior guard Jenissa Encarnacion registered 13 points, including a perfect 3-for-3 from long range. Encarnacion also tallied four rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Golden Knights.
Sophomore guard Ryley Blasetti finished with seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals as well in an all-around effort.
Junior guard Amber Washington lead Wilmington with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose begins Northeast-10 Conference play against Saint Michael's on Wednesday at 5:30 pm in Colchester, VT. The Wildcats next face Delaware State on Tuesday night.
