ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose roared back from a 16-point first half deficit to defeat visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Anselm 84-70 tonight. The Golden Knights (7-7/4-5 NE10) shot 50.8 percent (33-for-65) from the floor and outscored the Hawks 52-36 in the paint to snap their guests five-game win streak.

Cartier Bowman each registered "double-doubles" to pace the balanced Saint Rose attack. The former finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Bowman produced 14 points, on 6-for-7 shooting, and 11 boards as well in his first start of the season.

"I thought our guys battled tonight on both ends of the floor. We had a really balanced scoring attack with six guys in double figures. We also got a huge lift tonight from Cartier (Bowman) and Jermaine (Taggart) who continue to improve each and every day. We are looking forward to tipping off again on Thursday at Assumption," said head coach

The Golden Knights erased their 16-point deficit by outscoring Saint Anselm (10-5/6-4 NE10) 24-7 over the final 10:09 of the first half to go in the locker room up 39-38 at intermission.
They then opened the second half on a 26-7 run that boosted their advantage to 20, 65-45, after fifth year forward
Kevin Lynch finished inside. Alexander knocked down four, 3-pointers in just over a two-minute span beginning at the 17:51 mark to spark the jaunt.
The Hawks got no closer than within 12 in the final two minutes.
Junior guard Tyler Arbuckle and senior forward Chris Paul led Saint Anselm with 22 and 18 points respectively. Junior swing Own McGlashan added 12 points in 29 minutes off the bench.
Looking ahead, both squads return to the hardwood for make-ups this Thursday. Saint Rose travels to Worcester, Mass. to face conference rival Assumption in a make-up from January 8. Tip-of is set for 7:30 pm following the women's 5:30 pm tilt. Meanwhile, the Hawks head to Colchester, Vt. to face Saint Michael's in a make-up from December 30.
Notes: Tonight marked just the fifth home game for Saint Rose this season…They are 3-2 inside the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium…O'Dell recorded his fourth "double-double" of the year…He has been in double-figures scoring in seven straight outings and remains among the conference's leading scorers and rebounders…He is fifth among the NE10 leaders with a 19.8 scoring average…He stands eighth behind 7.5 rebounds per game…Alexander is eighth in the country and tops the league with 6.4 assists per outing…He also paces the conference with a 2.2 steals average…Saint Rose eclipsed the 80-point mark for the seventh time this season.
