GOLDEN KNIGHTS BLITZ AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL TO PICK UP 18-9 WIN

Six Saint Rose Players Recorded Two or More Points in the NE10 Victory

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –The College of Saint Rose outscored host American International 6-0 in the opening quarter on its way to an 18-9 Northeast-10 Conference road win this afternoon.

The Golden Knights (1-2/1-2 NE10), which led 7-2 at the intermission, had six players register two or more points in road victory.

Sophomore midfielder Gabriel Nish netted five goals, while sophomore attack Eddie Baker added four of his own and an assist to lead the Black and Gold offense. Sophomore attack Greg Walsh dished out four assists, while senior attack Jordyn Marchiano fired two into the net to become the sixth Saint Rose player to eclipse the 100 career points mark.

Sophomore goalie Ryan Fleming stopped 14 AIC shots to earn the win.

Sophomore attack Rusty Stone topped the Yellow Jackets with four goals.

Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to host top-10 opponents on Saturday. Seventh-ranked Adelphi is slated to visit Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Complex for a 1:00 pm NE10 matinee. Meanwhile, AIC (0-3/0-3 NE10) is set to entertain #1 Le Moyne at 6:00 pm.
Notes: The five goals by Nish is tied for second for most in a game by a Saint Rose player...Brett McAuliffe (April 7, 2012 vs. Roberts Wesleyan) and Matt Graham (March 6, 2018 at Post) hold the program single-game record of six.
Note on In-Person Attendance at Games: All games are subject to change based upon COVID-19 surveillance testing for both The College of Saint Rose and its opponents. In addition, per Northeast-10 Conference and New York State Department of Health guidelines, no spectators at this point will be permitted to attend any games scheduled for the Plumeri Sports Complex or on the road. The College and the NE10 will continue to monitor this situation with the hope of potentially having fans in some capacity at a later date.
