OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS FOR SAINT ROSE

Golden Knights Open Today at the Saint Michael's Tournament

ALBANY, N.Y. – Opportunities are plentiful for The College of Saint Rose women's basketball team this winter. With the departure of seven student-athletes from last year's squad, including the top-four scorers, every member of the Black and Gold has the chance to make an impact.

Back for their final campaigns are senior guards Cameron Graupman and Takora McIntyre, and senior forward Leah Dollard. Dollard is the top returning scorer, averaging 5.5 points last season. Graupman has the ability to knock down a trey, making a team-best 45.5 percent of her three-pointers, while McIntyre came up with 28 steals, second-most on the Golden Knights, in 2018-19.

Junior forward Nina Fedullo and sophomore guard Becca Townes also return.

Fedullo averaged 5.4 points and 4.6 rebounds last season, while Townes earned a spot in the veteran-laden rotation, playing more than ten minutes a night as a rookie.

Head Coach Karen Haag, who enters her 19th season at the helm, added five newcomers in: sophomore forward Shamim Wambere, freshman forward Naeva Rene, and freshmen guards Isabel Sanchez, Ashia Smith and Sara Pfeiffer.

The Golden Knights (11-16/4-16 NE10) begin the season this evening at the Saint Michael's Tournament in Colchester, Vt. Saint Rose will play Caldwell today at 5:00 pm and Wilmington tomorrow at 1:00 pm. The Golden Knights have their home and Northeast-10 Conference opener on Saturday, November 23rd at 1:30 pm vs. Adelphi.
