MANCHESTER, N.H. –The College of Saint Rose men's lacrosse team scored four goals in the final 7:36 to win 13-10 at Southern New Hampshire this afternoon. Sophomore attack
Jordyn Marchiano led the Golden Knights (6-7/5-4 NE10) with four goals and an assist.
Senior midfielder
Matt Graham added three goals and a helper for the victors. Graham, second in program annals with 130 career points, is now two points away from moving past Kevin Fleming '15 for the top spot.
"The guys stepped up once again to get a big road
Northeast-10 Conference victory," said Saint Rose head coach
Jim Morrissey. "It wasn't the prettiest of games, but we nonetheless grinded it out with some big goals down the stretch."
Freshman attack
Jack Pemrick, Graham, and freshman midfielder
John Loughlin all scored in the last 4:14 of the fourth to break a 10-10 tie. Pemrick finished with a goal and two assists, while Loughlin fired two into the net. In goal, Senior
Liam Guiton matched a career-high with 21 saves.
"Once again, Liam was a game changer for us in the cage," said Morrissey. "The new faces stepping up in crunch time bodes well for future tight games."
Southern New Hampshire (4-7/2-6 NE10) received four goals and one assist from senior midfielder Zach Tanner.
Saint Rose led 9-6 entering the final period, before the Penmen scored four of the next five to set up the deciding stretch.
Both teams have home NE10 games on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights host Franklin Pierce at 1:00 pm. Southern New Hampshire has its Senior Day game vs. American International. Â
