GOLDEN KNIGHTS SQUEEZE PAST BENTLEY 10-9

Marchiano Totals Five Points in Comeback NE10 Win

ALBANY, N.Y. – Freshman attack Jack Pemrick scored his first collegiate goal with 3:32 left in regulation to help The College of Saint Rose squeeze past visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Bentley 10-9 this afternoon.

Sophomore attack Jordyn Marchiano led the Golden Knights (2-4/1-1 NE10) with a career-high five points behind four goals and an assist.

Junior attack Carter Badour fired a pair into the net, while senior midfielder Matt Graham and Pemrick added a goal and an assist each. The second quarter goal put Graham alone in second place on the Saint Rose career goal scoring list with 80. The Golden Knights co-captain, second in program annals with 112 career points, is just 20 points away from moving past Kevin Fleming '15 for the top spot.

Senior goalie Liam Guiton made 19 saves, while senior midfielder Lucas Frese and junior midfielder Nicolas Johnson combined to win 13-of-22 face-offs.

"I'm extremely pleased with the outcome today as Bentley is a top-notch program," said head coach Jim Morrissey. "The team was laser focused in practice this week and the players earning this home NE10 victory is a big step for our progam."

After the Falcons (1-3/0-2 NE10) flew out to a 3-0 lead following the first quarter, Saint Rose scored eight of the next ten goals to enter the final period up 8-6. Bentley answered with a 3-0 fourth-quarter run to take a 9-8 lead with 8:26 to go. Senior attack Evan Doherty then put home a Pemrick man-up dish to knot the game with 6:12 remaining and set the stage for the rookie's game-winner.

"Our slow start allowed us to realize what we were doing wrong and we tightened things up after the first," said Graham. "Our offense is starting to click with a real strong defense behind it."

Senior attack Matt Sanford and sophomore midfielder totaled three points apiece to pace the Falcons.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights travel to Springfield to face American International at 7:00 pm Tuesday. Bentley hosts #1 Merrimack on Wednesday, also at 7:00 pm, in Waltham, Mass..
Notes: Graham is just 20 points away from surpassing Kevin Fleming '15 for most in school history. The Golden Knights co-captain is currently second with 80 career goals and tied for third (Evan Helming, '15) with 32 assists.
