RINDGE, N.H.–Sophomore attack
Carter Badour totaled two goals and an assist as The College of Saint Rose held off host Franklin Pierce 9-8 in
Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon.
"I am very proud of the way our guys went on the road today and grinded out a W in a tough environment," said Head Coach
Jim Morrissey. "Our offense did a great job controlling tempo in first half before our defense came up with some key stops and clears under pressure late in the game. And as always,
Liam Guiton made big stops in goal."
Freshman attack
Jordyn Marchiano and senior midfielder
Josh Frese also tallied two goals for the Golden Knights (3-11/2-8 NE10).
Much as how the Ravens (4-8/2-8 NE10) battled back from a three-goal deficit to knot the game 5-5 at hafltime, they worked in an attempt to overcome a 9-6 Saint Rose lead over the final 8:26. Franklin Pierce managed to get it to 9-8 with 3:54 remaining, however the Golden Knights' defense blocked a shot attempt, before sophomore goalie
Liam Guiton made his 14th save of the afternoon to send the visitors on a game-sealing clear.
Junior midfielder
Lucas Frese and sophomore midfielder
Nicolas Johnson won 6-of-9 face-offs each.
Junior attack Jack Carney scored a game-high four points for Franklin Pierce.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose closes out its 2017 campaign at Saint Michael's in Colchester, Vt. next Saturday. Game time is 12:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Ravens play at #6 Pace on Friday at 6pm.
