SARKILL, N.Y.- Junior attack
Evan Doherty scored four goals in today's 8-7 setback at St. Thomas Aquinas. It was the third time in his career that Doherty totaled four goals.
The Golden Knights (0-2) worked hard to erase a four goal deficit over the final 21:16. After cutting the Spartans advantage to a single goal with 5:16 left, Saint Rose outshot the hosts 3-1 in a valiant effort to tally the equalizer.

Nicolas Johnson won 16-of-19 face-offs.
Junior attack Briele Caples led all players with six points, four goals and two assists, for the Spartans (2-0).
Freshman attack
Jordyn Marchiano recorded a goal, an assist and scooped up four ground balls in his collegiate debut.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose visits No. 4 Mercyhurst next Wednesday, March 8 in Erie, Pa.. The Spartans meanwhile are at the University of District of Columbia on Saturday.
