NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.-The College of Saint Rose shot 46.0 percent (23-of-50) from the field Wednesday evening on its way to a 62-54 victory over host Merrimack in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup held at Hammel Court.

Saint Rose (13-5/7-4 NE-10) jumped out to a 17-10 lead after one, and led 33-22 at the half after a last-second bucket from freshman forward Karissa Birthwright.

Birthwright was a significant factor with 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting, eight rebounds and one block in 32 minutes off the bench. Junior guard Taylor Nazon provided a game-high 15 points, six rebounds and two steals.

Trailing by 15 entering the final period, Merrimack (7-11/3-9 NE-10) fought back to cut the lead to five (55-50) with 1:06 to go after a 3-pointer from senior guard Caitlyn Garger.

Next, sophomore guard Britani Stowe and senior guard Keyontae Williams combined to hit six straight free throws to seal the game for the Golden Knights.

Stowe finished with nine points and seven assists, while Williams collected 12 points and three rebounds. Junior forward Staci Barrett contributed nine points and seven rebounds.

Saint Rose limited the Warriors to 31.9 percent (22-for-69) shooting, and held a 44-32 advantage on the glass.

Up next, the Golden Knights return home on Saturday, January 23 to take on Saint Michael's at 1:30 p.m. in the first half of a doubleheader inside the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
