ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose led throughout the final 38 minutes, but had to hold off
Northeast-10 Conference rival American International to chalk up a 66-58 victory during
Stomp Out Homelessness Night at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The Golden Knights thus won the fourth time in their last six outings and in the process snapped the Yellow Jackets three-game win streak.

Senior center
Mariah Lesure went 8-for-12 from the floor on the way to a game high 20 points while sophomore forward
Staci Barrett tossed in 17 points in 25 minutes of the bench to lead Saint Rose. Also, senior guards
Jamie Hutcheson and
Gabie Polce scored 11 and 10 respectively as the Golden Knights (10-11/6-9 NE-10) put four players in double-figures for the sixth time this year.

The game was close throughout. American International (12-11/7-8 NE-10) cut an eight point, 36-28, halftime deficit to three in the opening five minutes of the second stanza, before junior guard
Keyontae Williams  and Lesure both finished inside to make it a seven point, 42-35, affair with 12:02 to go. However, the Yellow Jackets responded with seven unanswered points a minute later to afford the contest its third tie, 44-44, with 9:42 left.

A Polce jumper and a free throw from Hutcheson put Saint Rose back up by three, 47-44, a minute later. The lead subsequently fluctuated between two and five points until the final 45 seconds when the Golden Knights went 6-for-8 from the line after American International was forced to foul.

Junior forward Kamika Mason led the Yellow Jackets with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while senior forward Krista Ferrentino finished with 13 points and seven boards. Sophomore guard Imani Stepney added 11 points.

Looking ahead, both teams have conference dates on tap for Saturday. Saint Rose will travel to New Haven for a 3:30 pm game while American International will host Pace University at 1:30 pm.
