FOUR TIME DEFENDING IVY LEAGUE CHAMPS UPEND GOLDEN KNIGHTS

CAMBRIDGE, MA-Four-time defending Ivy League Champion Harvard showed its mettle with an 84-38 victory against The College of Saint Rose this evening at Lavietes Pavilion. Harvard (9-3) put 13 players in the scoring column to improve to 7-0 at home this season.
 
Freshman center Sam Eckstrom recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Golden Knights (5-9). Junior guard Chris Dorgler added nine points.
 
For the Crimson (9-3), sophomore center Zena Edosomwan recorded 14 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore guard Corbin Miller and freshman guard Zach Yoshor tossed in 12 and 11 points respectively.
 
Harvard went into the locker room at halftime with a 43-21 lead by holding the Golden Knights to 23.1 percent (6-for-26) shooting and canning 53.3 percent (16-for-30) of its attempts from the floor. The Crimson then accounted for 17 of the first 18 points of the second half and never looked back.
 
Looking ahead, Saint Rose is on the road Wednesday with a 7:30 pm Northeast-10 Conference date at Assumption in Worcester. Meanwhile, Harvard opens its Ivy League slate next Saturday, January 10, at Dartmouth. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm.
