ALBANY –A career-high 11 assists from senior guard Gabie Polce, along with 15 points apiece from forwards Staci Barrett and Mariah Lesure, propelled The College of Saint Rose women's basketball team to a 70-43 win over non-conference foe Georgian Court Saturday afternoon at Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Senior Jamie Hutcheson and junior Nicole Bini each chipped in 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers from each. Barrett led from the glass with eight rebounds, followed by junior forward Kelsey Glanzman with seven. Lesure registered four blocks and the lone steal for Saint Rose on the day.

After holding the Lions to a mere 14 points in the first half, the Golden Knights kept GCU at bay by more than 15 points throughout the remainder of the game. Both teams traded buckets in the first five minutes to bring the score to 42-22 at the 15:15 mark, but Saint Rose followed with an 11-2 run to go up by 24 with 8:51 remaining.  The Lions attempted to bridge the gap by bringing the Saint Rose lead to 20, but the Golden Knights kept firing and extended their lead to a game-high 27 after a good 3-pointer from Bini in the final minute.

Saint Rose collected 30 points off 18 Lion turnovers, and another 20 points in the paint. The Golden Knights also notched 22 points off the bench, and held GCU to just 14 in the same category.

Saint Rose hits the road on Wednesday in a return to Northeast-10 Conference play at Saint Michael's with a 5:30 pm tip-off in Colchester, Vt.. The Golden Knights return home on Saturday, January 24 when they host Saint Anselm at 1:30 pm. The contest with the Hawks is also teh annucal Pink Zone Game.
