Box Score

PLEASANTVILLE, NY–Host Pace overcame a 34-28 halftime deficit on the way to a 62-54 victory against The College of Saint Rose during Northeast-10 Conference action earlier this evening.

Junior guard Jamie Hutcheson notched her fourth "double-double" of the year for the Golden Knights (9-14/4-13 NE-10) with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Desiree Simmons added nine points and four assists.

The Setters (5-17/4-12 NE-10) used a 43-34 rebounding margin to their advantage as junior forward Shanice Maynard pulled in a game-high 11 boards to go with 10 points. Freshman guard Shanice Allen led four players in double-figures with 13 points, all in the second half. Junior guard Jeane Drury contributed 12 points.

The Golden Knights held the Setters scoreless for nearly the first eight minutes, on the way to an early 13-0 advantage. However, Pace tied the game at 22-22 that included a 15-1 spurt six minutes later. Saint Rose recaptured the lead and went into the intermission with 34-28 lead thanks in large part to just one turnover.

Simmons scored all of her points in the first half as nine Golden Knights registered a point in the opening stanza. Drury also netted nine points for the Setters that included two, 3-pointers.

A trey from junior guard Margo Hackett with 11 minutes left gave Pace its first lead of the game at 44-43, a lead that was not relinquished. Previously, the Golden Knights went up 39-28 less than four minutes out of the break on a layup and free throw from junior guard Gabie Polce. However, the Setters outscored Saint Rose 34-15 from that point forward.

The Setters pulled in seven offensive rebounds throughout the period that translated into seven second chance points. Additionally, Allen went 7-for-8 from the free throw line down the stretch.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights resume the year-long Upstate Challenge rivalry series at Le Moyne on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 pm in Syracuse. Pace is also set for a 3:30 pm game on Saturday, traveling to West Haven, CT to face New Haven.
