GOLDEN KNIGHTS FALL TO ADELPHI IN HOME OPENER

ALBANY-Adelphi jumped out to a 36-22 halftime lead and then used a 10-0 run at the start of the second period to put itself in control on the way to a 76-59 victory versus The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference action tonight. In the process, the Panthers (5-0/3-0 NE-10) kept their unblemished record intact.
 
Adelphi shot 58.3 percent (14-for-24) from the floor in the second half and outscored the Golden Knights 13-6 from the foul throughout the evening.
 
Senior center Mariah Lesure scored a season-high 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while senior guard Jamie Hutcheson added 10 points and six rebounds to lead Saint Rose (2-3/1-2 NE-10) in its 2014-15 home opener.
 
Meanwhile, sophomore forward Calli Balfour and senior forward Kelly Mannix tossed in 24 and 20 points respectively for Adelphi.
 
Up next, the Golden Knights will return home Monday, December 1 to host Goldey-Beacom in a 6:00 pm non-conference tilt. Meanwhile, the Panthers host Millersville this Sunday, November 30 at 1:30 pm.
