The Plot: The College of Saint Rose is back at home after the holiday break to face  Northeast-10 Conference foe Assumption this evening.

Last Time Out: Saint Rose had its five-game win streak snapped with Saturday's 77-61 setback at Saint Anselm. The Hawks outscored the Golden Knights 20-9 from the foul line to chalk up their fourth victory in the past five contests. Senior guard Desiree Simmons was in double-figures scoring for the ninth time this season with a team-high 14 points. Junior guard Jamie Hutcheson and freshman forward Staci Barrett finished with 11 points and seven rebounds apiece, while junior center Jess DeNicola contributed season-highs of 10 points and five boards throughout 21 minutes off the bench.

Last Meeting (2/20/13): A run midway through the second half allowed host Assumption to upend Saint Rose 68-58.  The Golden Knights were outscored in the second half 42-31 after leading by one, 27-26, at the break. Junior guard Gabie Polce scored in double-figures, finishing with a team-high 16 points coupled with three assists. Maria Sanchez Gonzalez grabbed 18 rebounds to tie a career-high and help Saint Rose control a 48-27 advantage on the boards. For the Greyhounds, Gabrielle Gibson fell one point shy of a career-high as she finished with 31 points, 20 in the second half, that included a 6-of-11 performance from beyond the arc.  Sabrina Siciliano created seven of the Greyhound's 16 steals.  Assumption used those 16 steals to help force 27 Saint Rose turnovers that translated into 25 points.

Scouting Saint Rose (8-5/3-4 NE-10): The Golden Knights went 5-0 in the month of December. Saint Rose is averaging a league-best 26.1 free throw attempts per-game. The squad is also second in the conference with a +7.2 rebounding  margin. Simmons is tied for eighth in the NE-10 with 1.9 steals per-game.

Scouting Assumption (7-5/3-4 NE-10): The Greyhounds average 22.8 free throw attempts per-game, third most in the NE-10. Senior forward Jamie Insel is fifth in the league in rebounds.Assumption won three straight before Saturday's 86-64 loss at LIU Post. Senior guard Tafanie Roye led the Greyhounds with 25 points. Freshman forward Johanna Impellizeri contributed a career-high 20.

Up Next: Both teams are in action this Saturday with 1:30 pm conference meetings. Saint Rose travels to Rindge, NH to face Franklin Pierce while Assumption hosts New Haven in Worcester, MA.
