ALBANY-Southern New Hampshire shot 52.6 percent (30-for-57) from the floor on the way to an 80-59 victory against The College of Saint Rose in
Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The visiting Penmen (6-10/4-7 NE-10) led wire-to-wire and in the process snapped an eight game skid.

Desiree Simmons scored 12 points, while junior guard
Gabie Polce and junior center
Jess DeNicola had 10 each to lead the Golden Knights (8-9/3-8 NE-10). DeNicola also hauled in seven boards. Sophomore forward
Sarah Illingworth finished with eight points and eight rebounds throughout 24 minutes off the bench.
Saint Rose cut an eight point, 37-29; halftime deficit to four, 42-28, in the opening three minutes of the second stanza after Simmons converted a three-point play. However, the Penmen countered with a 20-4 charge that put them in control, 62-42, with 9:26 remaining. Saint Rose got no closer than 18 the rest of the way.
Freshman guard Sara Ryan went 8-for-10 from the floor on the way to a game-high 22 points for Southern New Hampshire. Sophomore forward Erin Doherty tossed in 20 and junior guard Brooke Springfield wound up with 19.
Looking ahead, both teams return to conference action with 5:30 pm games this Wednesday, January 22. The Golden Knights will host Saint Michael's for Student-Athlete Academic Appreciation Night presented by
Hugh Johnson Advisors. Meanwhile, the Penmen have a date at Adelphi on Long Island.
