RINDGE, NH – Host Franklin Pierce created an early advantage on the way to a 78-53 win against The College of Saint Rose earlier today during
Northeast-10 Conference play.

Junior guard
Jamie Hutcheson notched season-highs of 15 points, 13Â in the second half, and 12 rebounds and tied her season-best with three steals to lead the Golden Knights (8-7/3-6 NE-10). Freshman forward
Staci Barrett tied a season-high as well with 14 points in 26 minutes of reserve duty.

Franklin Pierce (8-6/5-4 NE-10) shot 49.1 (26-for-53) percent from the floor and held Saint Rose to 26.4 (19-for-72) percent shooting.
Sophomore forward Kara Charette led four Ravens in double-figures with 16 points. Junior forward Jessica Hurd recorded a "double-double" of 11 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench.

Saint Rose struggled from the floor in the first half with a season-low 18 points. Franklin Piece created an early 9-0 lead in the first four minutes. The Golden Knights tied the game at 9-9 three minutes later before the Ravens went into halftime on a 21-9 run.

Hurd grabbed 10 of her rebounds in the first stanza for the Ravens while Barrett scored seven points for Saint Rose.

The Golden Knights faced a double-digit deficit for the entire second half although they were within 12 on two occasions.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose travels to North Andover, MA to face Merrimack on Tuesday for a 5:30 pm league encounter. Meanwhile, Franklin Pierce is off until next Saturday with a conference road date at New Haven starting a 3:30 pm.
