PHILADELPHIA, PA-The College of Saint Rose split a two-game weekend trip at the University of the Sciences hosted "USciences Mixer" by defeating Goldey-Beacom 68-53 earlier today.

Junior guard
Gabie Polce scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Golden Knights (1-1). Freshman forward
Staci Barrett posted a "double-double" of 12 points and 11 rebounds while sophomore guard
Nicole Bini added 11 points by going 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Additionally, sophomore forward
Kelsey Glanzman hauled 12 boards.

Goldey Beacom (1-1) got 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists from senior forward Briana Richmond-Peters. Junior forward Chelsea Grover came off the bench to register a "double-double" via 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Polce scored 14 points in the first half by going 4-for-6 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line to help put Saint Rose up 36-29 at the break.

Saint Rose finished the first stanza with a 5-0 run to go up by seven points as Polce knocked down a 3-pointer and senior guard
Desiree Simmons converted two free throws with a second remaining.

The Golden Knights expanced their lead in the second half by outscoring Goldey-Beacom 32-24. Barrett led Saint Rose with eight points while Bini and Polce each chipped in six.

Goldey-Beacom managed to pull to within two points at 47-45 early in the stanza, but a 17-2 Golden Knights run during the ensuing nine minutes put them in the driver's seat..

Saint Rose opens the conference portion of its 2013-14 campaign on Wednesday with a 7:00 pm road date at New Haven. Goldey-Beacom returns to University of the Sciences on Tuesday for a 6:00 pm Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up.
