The Plot: The College of Saint Rose returns to action following the holiday break to host non-conference opponent LIU Post tonight inside the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
Last Time Out: Saint Rose rallied from being down by as many points as 11 points to defeat host Bloomfield, 55-49, on Saturday, December 15. The win snapped a six-game skid for the Golden Knights. Senior forward Jessica Walton scored a game-high 14 points while also adding five rebounds and two steals. Freshman guard Tyler Hansen contributed 10 points. The Saint Rose defense held the Lady Deacons to a mere 21.4 percent (6-of-28) shooting in the second half.
Last Meeting (12/16/11): Saint Rose made a furious second half rally, but could not overcome a 29-12 first period deficit in a 59-50 setback at LIU Post. The Golden Knights were hurt by 47.6 percent (10-for-21) shooting from the line, whereas the Pioneers canned 81.8 percent (18-for-22) of their chances from the stripe. Saint Rose managed to get to within one on three occasions throughout the final 10 minutes. Sophomore guard Chelsea Williams finished with a game-high 17 points for the Pioneers while Ashley Rath tossed in 15 points for the Golden Knights.

Scouting Saint Rose (3-6/0-6 NE-10): Saint Rose is 3-0 in non-conference action this season. Hansen was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 16. Freshman guard Nicole Bini averages a team-high 13.1 points per-game. Senior forward Maria Sanchez Gonzalez is fifth in the NE-10 behind 9.3 rebounds per-game.The Golden Knights hold a +5.6 rebounding margin.
Scouting LIU Post (7-2/1-1 ECC): Senior forward Nicolette
Marciniak ranks fifth in the East Coast Conference in scoring (13.9 ppg) and is sixth in rebounding (7.9 rpg) for the Pioneers, formely known as C.W. Post. Senior center Samantha Kopp is averaging 2.9 blocks per-game, the third best mark in the ECC. Opponents are shooting a mere 26.6 percent from beyond the arc against LIU Post.
Up Next: Southern Connecticut State travels to Albany this Saturday, January 5 to face the Golden Knights for a NE-10 contest. Tip-off is schedule for 1:30 pm. The Pioneers also play host this Saturday at 1:30 pm, welcoming conference foe Queens to campus of LIU Post in Brookville, NY.
