TROY, NY – The College of Saint Rose wrapped up a busy week of swimming by splitting a dual meet with Bentley on Sunday at Robison Pool on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The men won 195-99 while the women dropped a 193-106 decision.
For the men, a trio Golden Knights picked up three individual wins each. Freshman
Eric Howard was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.31. Later he claimed the 200 backstroke and the 200 IM with times of 2:00.67 and 2:05.68 respectively.
Junior
Kyle Wilson once again proved his prowess in the distance events, sweeping the 500 and 1,000 freestyles, clocking in at 4:57.66 and 10:25.16 respectively. He won the former event by more than 12 seconds and claimed the latter by more than a 14 second margin. Wilson furthermore sandwiched the freestyle wins with a winning time of 2:00.97 in the 200 butterfly.
Senior
Joseph Krok also won three events. He claimed the 100 and 200 freestyles with respective 49.39 and 1:50.40 clockings. Krok was also victorious in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.32.
Saint Rose swept the breaststroke events on the men's side as sophomore
Evan Kollmeyer won the 200 with a time of 2:22.82 to edge junior
Stephen Delarede who touched the wall in 2:22.89. Earlier in the meet, Delarede won the 100 by stopping the clock in 1:02.75. He also finished second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:08.54.
Both Golden Knights men's relay teams won their events as well. In the 200 medley; Howard, Delarede, Krok and freshman
Jordan Gregg recorded a time of 1:41.21 while the 200 freestyle relay quartet of sophomore
Alexander Sedik, freshmen
Neil Bednar and
Timothy Wilson , nd Kyle Wilson clocked in at 1:31.52.
On the women's, senior
Caitlin Brauer capped her perfect individual event weekend with wins in the 200 and 500 freestyles. She went 1:59.54 in the former and finished the 500 in 5:18.04. Brauer also swam of winning 200 IM time of 2:14.15.
Additionally, junior
Kelsey Kraft won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:21.83 while sophomore
Kiersten Beckford took the top spot in the 50 freestyle with her 26.28 performance. Also, sophomore
Alexa Patnaude finished second in the 3-meter diving competition with a personal best of 249.95.
Saint Rose wraps up the dual meet portion of its 2012-13 schedule next Saturday, January 19 versus Adelphi. The meet begins at 6:00 pm on the campus of RPI.
