ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose is scheduled to host Assumption College at 10:30 am today in its 2011-12 home finale at
Tri-City Fitness in Latham. The Golden Knights played four of their six home dates last fall.
SCOUTING SAINT ROSE (4-4/4-4 NE-10)
Saint Rose currently has a hold of eighth place in the
Northeast-10 Conference standings with five matches left in the 2011-12 regular season. The top-eight teams qualify for the league's postseason tournament. The Golden Knights are off to a 2-2 start this spring. Their lone losses have come to a pair of top-seven regionally ranked opponents (#4 Southern New Hampshire and #7 Stonehill). Junior
Jennifer Crego and senior
Erin Reeg have led Saint Rose in singles action thus far. Crego owns a 6-2 mark from the #1 position in the lineup. Meanwhile, Reeg has gone 3-4 from the #2 spot. The duo has teamed up to go 4-3 in doubles play. Reeg will be playing in the final home match of her career this afternoon as the Golden Knights prepare to embark on a four-match road trip to close out the year.
SCOUTING ASSUMPTION (5-10/2-5 NE-10)
Assumption fell 5-4 at Le Moyne College yesterday. The Greyhounds have now lost two in a row following a three-match win streak. Freshman Chrissy Lyons and junior Erica Micciche have provided a spark for Assumption in singles play thus far. Lyons owns a 7-6 record at #1, while Micciche has strung together a 6-6 mark. Micciche has gone 5-1 from the #2 spot in the lineup. The Greyhounds have used 12 different combinations of players in doubles action. Lyons and sophomore Paige Gilet have been the most formidable threat behind a 3-4 slate.
UP NEXT
Saint Rose hits the road Wednesday to take on Adelphi University. The match is scheduled to get underway at 3:00 pm from Garden City, NY. The Greyhounds return home Wednesday afternoon to host Bentley University. The match is set to begin at 3:30 pm in Worcester, MA.
