SAINT ROSE GETS BACK ON WINNING TRACK

Junior Nicole Terribile improved her singles record to 4-1 on the season as she helped the Golden Knights defeat Pace on Tuesday.

BRIARCLIFF, NY – The College of Saint Rose returned to its winning ways with a 6-3 win over Northeast-10 Confernece rival Pace University Tuesday afternoon.

A pair of Golden Knights registered multiple points on the day. Junior Jennifer Crego and senior Erin Reeg won their first flight doubles match over junior Simona Mrazova and freshman Alena Al-Bochi Mazi 8-4.

Both players would then go on to win their singles matches as well. In the first flight match, Crego downed Mrazova 6-3, 6-3 while Reeg won in a walkover in second flight singles. For Crego, the win ran her record to 6-1 on the season in singles matches.

Two other Golden Knights gained points in singles competition. Freshman Lauren Romine topped sophomore Lauren Pittore 6-3, 6-3 in third flight singles. In the fifth flight match, junior Nicole Terribile ran her singles record to 4-1 on the season with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over senior Carla Gross.

One of the most tightly contested matches on the day went to the Golden Knights in third flight doubles where junior Sarah Klein and freshman Alyssa Marie Haddad needed an extra game to down Pittore and junior Ashley Wnuk by a 9-7 final.

Saint Rose has just one day off before returning to action Thursday for a 3:00 pm conference match at Stonehill in Easton, MA. Pace next plays on Saturday when the Setters will host Merrimack at 2:30 pm.
