THE PLOT: The College of Saint Rose opens both its home and Northeast-10 conference schedule tonight as it hosts the University of New Haven inside Nolan Gymnasium.

LAST MEETING (2/21/12): Ashley Rath scored 27 points, include five, three-pointers, to help Saint Rose pick up a 70-53 victory in the 2011-12 regular season-finale against New Haven.  Also in the effort, Ali Johnson gathered a "double-double" behind 11 points and 14 rebounds and also tallied three blocked shots.  Johnson's rebounding efforts were apart of an advantage of 43-31 that the Golden Knights held in that category against the Chargers.

SCOUTING SAINT ROSE: The Golden Knights came away from the Queens Tip-Off tournament this past week 2-0 after a 53-51 win against Post late Friday night and then a quick turnaround Saturday to pick up a 57-52 victory versus Concordia. In the Friday night victory, junior guard Brittany O'Shea layed in the game-winner with just 14 seconds remaining as the Saint Rose held up to preserve the victory. The Golden Knights outrebounded their two opponents by a +19.5 average margin. Freshman guard Nicole Bini debuted nicely this weekend, leading the team in scoring at 13.0 points to go along with 6.0 rebounds per-game. Senior forward Maria Sanchez Gonzalez hauled in 13.5 rebounds and also averaged 8.0 points thanks in part to 8-for-10 shooting from the free throw line.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN: The Chargers went 1-1 this past weekend AIC Tip-Off Classic in Springfield. Saturday afternoon, New Haven fell 63-59 to Dominican and then rebounded for a 65-59 win versus Felician on Sunday afternoon. Junior guard Anh-Dao Tran and sophomore forward Bria Moore both averaged 13.0 points per game. Moore also pulled down 7.5 rebounds while Tran handed out 4.5 assists throughout the weekend. She also averaged 4.0 steals.

UP NEXT: The Golden Knights will be on the road next Tuesday, November 20, to face "Upstate Challenge" rival Le Moyne at 5:30 pm in Syracuse, NY.  This will be the latest installment of the year-long series.  Meanwhile, New Haven hosts a non-conference contest on Sunday, facing Dolwing in West Haven, CT at 2:00 pm.
