Saint Rose scored three times throughout a 24-minute span in the first period en route to a 3-0 NE-10 triumph at Pace last October 5. Amanda Deck set up two goals for the Golden Knights, including what proved to be the game-winner, while sophomore forwards

Saint Rose comes into its NE-10 opener tonight on the heels of a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory at New Mexico Highlands on Saturday night. Bond forced the extra session via a header in the 88th minute and senior midfielder
Derith Fernandes completed the comeback by finishing off a feed from sophomore midfielder
Laura Taylor at the 1:04:31 mark.
The Golden Knights will look to extend their league win streak this evening. Saint Rose has won 38 consecutive NE-10 matches dating back to 2008.
Through two games this season, 13 players have found the scoring column. The Golden Knights also own a 34-13 margin in shots and a 19-4 advantage in corners. A pair of freshmen forwards in
Brittany Barry and
Cenayda Guzman lead the scoring parade along with Bond. Barry has six points on three goals, while Guzman and Bond each have two goals and one assist. Sophomore keeper
Jessica Gerski owns a 0.60 goals-against-average and has stopped five shots at this juncture.
SCOUTING PACE (1-1-0/0-0-0 NE-10)
The Setters bounced back from a season-opening 2-1 setback at Wilmington University (DE) to blank St. Thomas Aquinas 5-0 on Sunday. Freshman midfielder Genna Kooner netted a pair of first half tallies, while junior forward Meghan Tremblay found the back of the net twice in the second stanza to lead Pace.
Tonight also marks the 2011 league opener for the Setters, who finished 3-12 a year ago in NE-10 action.
Kooner and Tremblay represent the top scoring threats for the Setters. Kooner has six points on three goals, while Tremblay has the aforementioned two strikes for four points. Junior keeper Courtany Hagen has played all but 15 minutes in goal. She has a 1.10 GAA with four saves.
UP NEXT
Saint Rose continues its brief two-game homestand this week as the Golden Knights are scheduled to host NE-10 rival UMass Lowell at 5:00 pm Friday evening. Pace is also back in action Friday. The Setters return home to welcome Assumption for a 4:00 pm kickoff.
