GOLDEN KNIGHTS TAKE ON SAINT MICHAEL'S TODAY

Saint Rose is set to host Saint Michael's at 3:30 pm this afternoon at Sullivan Field
ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team returns to action this afternoon. The Golden Knights (0-5-0/0-2-0) are set to welcome Saint Michael's College (2-1-2/0-0-1) to Sullivan Field for a 3:30 pm kickoff. Follow the action online by viewing Live Stats throughout the contest.

LAST MEETING (September 7, 2010)
Host Saint Michael's scored three times in the second half to hand Saint Rose a 3-0 setback in what marked the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference opener for both clubs last September 7. Senior keeper Patrik Ohlsson recorded seven saves for the Golden Knights, who were outshot by an 18-7 margin.

Rob Pierce struck first for Saint Michael's when he finished a serve from sophomore midfielder Anthony Stanley with 13:55 elapsed in the second stanza. Junior midfielder Dana DiPinto extended the lead with his first collegiate goal, tapping in a lob from Ryan Gannon 18 minutes later. Andrew Scanlon knocked in an insurance strike off a rebound from Pierce's direct kick that drilled the crossbar in the 87th minute.

SCOUTING SAINT ROSE (0-5-0/0-2-0 NE-10)
The Golden Knights resume their league schedule today following a 1-0 loss at NYIT on Thursday afternoon. It marked the fourth time in five contests Saint Rose was defeated by a mere one goal.

Ohlsson ranks third in the league in saves (21) at this juncture. He has played all 450 minutes between the posts and owns a 1.80 goals-against-average. Junior midfielder Zak Duguay has accounted for the lone strike this season, while junior forward Giancarlo Montenegro has added an assist.

SCOUTING SAINT MICHAEL'S (2-1-2/0-0-1 NE-10)
The Purple Knights played to a scoreless tie in their 2011 league-opener against Saint Anselm on Tuesday. Saint Michael's is making its second trip to Albany this season. The Purple Knights went 0-1-1 in the Saint Rose Kick-Off Classic that was held September 2-3.

Saint Michael's is tied for second in the NE-10 with 1.8 goals-per-game at this juncture. Sophomore midfielder Omar Khartabil is the team's top scoring threat. Khartabil has six points on the strength of three goals.

Junior keeper Logan Kingman has played all but 13:43 in goal. Kingman ranks second in the conference with 25 saves to go along with a 0.94 GAA and two shutouts.

Saint Rose has a week off before heading to Saint Anselm for a league contest next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm in Manchester, NH. Saint Michael's returns to the pitch Wednesday afternoon when the Purple Knights welcome Bentley to Colchester, VT for a 4:00 pm NE-10 affair.
