SPRINGFIELD, MA – The College of Saint Rose got the spring portion of its 2010-11 campaign off on a positive note with a 9-0 triumph at Northeast-10 Conference rival American International this afternoon. The Golden Knights dropped just 15 games collectively and won all six singles flights in straight sets.

Stephanie Wilhelm were victorious in both singles and doubles action for Saint Rose (4-3/4-3 NE-10).
Crego and Leighton won their first and second singles matches by respective scores of 6-1, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-0 against juniors Angie Rassias and Amanda McLean. Reeg upended junior Jamie Roy 6-0, 6-2 in third singles; Schacher defeated sophomore Martine Turgeon 6-0, 6-3 at fourth singles; Belz came away with a 6-1, 6-0 victory against freshman Edna Olowo at the fifth flight and Wilhelm chalked up a 6-1, 6-1 win against junior Taila de Souza at number-six singles.
Earlier in the day, Leighton and Reeg posted an 8-3 victory in the top doubles flight while the teams of Crego and Schacher, and Belz and Wilhelm both came away with 8-0 wins in the second and third flights respectively.
Up next, Saint Rose is scheduled to return home tomorrow to host conference and upstate rival Le Moyne. The match is scheduled for noon at Kelton Courts. Meanwhile, American International (0-1/0-1 NE-10) has a 4:00 pm home date with the Dolphins Wednesday.
