WALTHAM, MA - The College of Saint Rose will meet top-seed and host Bentley University in an
NCAA Tournament East Regional semifinal encounter tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 pm from the Dana Athletic Center. Third-seed Stonehill (22-7) will meet seventh-seed Bloomfield (22-8) in the other semifinal at 6:00 pm. The regional championship game is Tuesday at 8:30 pm.
Tickets are $8 for general admission and $3 for students, seniors, and children and are available at the door. There are no advance ticket sales. A free live video stream of the game, as well as all the contests at the East Regional, will be available at

Saint Rose advanced via last night's thrilling 81-68 triumph versus UMass Lowell (20-10). The Golden Knights rallied from three 12 point, first half deficits, and outscored the River Hawks 39-16 throughout the final 17 minutes en route to the victory. The Golden Knights (22-8) put five players in double-figures scoring for the fifth time this year.
Junior forward
Brian Hanuschak and sophomore guard
Andre Pope both recorded “double-doubles” to lead Saint Rose. Hanuschak finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds; while Pope filled the box score to the tune of 15 points, a career-high 11 boards, and six assists.
The Golden Knights have now won nine of their last 10, with the lone blemish coming at none other than Bentley (23-7) via a 68-60 Northeast-10 Conference semifinal setback eight days ago.
Saint Rose currently paces the conference in scoring (77.9), FT% (.787), and 3FG% (.383); and is second in FG% (.452). The Golden Knights have furthermore had four players averaging double-figures in scoring all year.
Junior first-team All-Conference guard
Rob Gutierrez is fifth in the NE-10 with a team-leading 18.1 points per-game, which is 13.7 points higher than his career average of 4.4 ppg entering this season. He has been in double-figures in all but two of his 29 games. Fellow junior guard
Shea Bromirski, a third-team All-League honoree for the second straight season, also averages twin-figures as do both Pope and Hanuschak. Bromirski and Pope are averaging 15.7 and 13.1 points respectively, while Hanuschak is producing 11.4 points and a team-leading 8.8 rebounds. Pope and Bromirski have additionally combined to bury 145, 3-pointers this year.
As for Bentley, the Falcons advanced with Saturday's 74-60 victory against eighth-seed C.W. Post. Junior guard San LeClerc senior forward Brian Tracey, and sophomore guard Greg Jacques combined for 52 points and 15 rebounds.
Tracey, an All-Region honoree, who has moved into a tie for 10th on Bentley's all-time scoring list, leads the Falcons with 17.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per-game. He eclipsed the 1,500 point mark in Saturday's quarterfinal and became only the fourth player in program history with both 1,500 points and 800 boards. Senior guard Tom Dowling is the team's other double-figure scorer at 11.4 ppg and graduate guard Mike Quinn follows at 8.7 ppg. Like Tracey, both have surpassed 1,000 career points. Quinn made his 131st career start on Saturday, becoming Bentley's all-time leader in that category.
Overall, Bentley leads the series that dates back to the 1993-94 campaign by a 15-5 margin. The Falcons have now taken 11 straight from the Golden Knights. The last Saint Rose win came via a 91-79 victory back on January 22, 2004 in Waltham.
