ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose will put its season-long six-game win streak on the line when it hosts Pace University in a
Northeast-10 Conference Tournament quarterfinal encounter tonight at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm. The game may also be seen via the internet at

The Golden Knights (20-6) split the regular-season series against the Setters as each club won on its home floor. Pace came away with a 64-58 triumph in Pleasantville back on November 28 after limiting Saint Rose to just three field goals throughout the opening 11 minutes. The Golden Knights avenged that loss behind a 54-51 victory on February 12 when they held the Setters to just seven second half field goals to overcome a 31-27 halftime deficit.
Fourth-seed Saint Rose, which earned a first-round bye after finishing among the top-four teams in the final regular-season standings, is coming off of last Wednesday's 64-49 victory against visiting Le Moyne. The Golden Knights wound up shooting 52.0 percent (26-for-50) from the floor, outrebounded the Dolphins by a 35-26 margin, and put four players in double-figures scoring for the seventh time this year.
Saint Rose has a balanced attack that features five players averaging at least 7.6 points per-game. Junior first-team All-Conference guard
Ashley Rath leads the way with 16.6 points on the strength of 2.58, three-pointers per-game.
Rath is followed by junior guard
Ola Shajuyigbe and senior guard
Lynsey Timbrouck, who are averaging 12.7 and 9.3 points respectively. Shajuyigbe is fourth in the league and 23rd in the country (Division II) in free throw percentage (85.2). Timbrouck paces the NE-10 and is second in the nation in assists (7.31) having dished out a single-season school record 190 helpers. She is furthermore leading the conference in minutes (38.85) and A:TO ratio (2.26); and is third in steals (2.42).
Meanwhile, fifth-seed Pace advanced with Saturday's 58-35 first-round win against visiting Saint Anselm. The Setters have won four straight after falling to Saint Rose just 17 days ago. Pace has a pair of second-team All-Conference performers in senior forward Brittany Huggins and sophomore forward Brittany Shields. Huggins is tied for 12th all-time in school annals with 1,209 points heading into Tuesday. She leads the team with 14.3 points per-game, while Shields is right behind her with 13.8 points per-outing. Shields is also hauling in a team-best 7.8 rebounds.
Tickets for the game are $7 for adults, $4 for children, seniors and Saint Rose ID holders, and $1 for students from other NE-10 institutions. Tickets are free for any Saint Rose student with a valid Saint Rose student ID. All tickets will be available at the door, approximately one hour prior to tip-off.
