ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose closes out the non-conference portion of its 2011-12 schedule when the Golden Knights host Bloomfield College at 12:00 pm today at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. Kids, 12-years-old and younger, will receive a free admission ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket ($5.00) as part of The Take A Kid to the Game© program.
Scouting Saint Rose (7-3)
The Golden Knights are set to close out their non-conference slate this afternoon...Saint Rose possesses the top scoring defense in the league...The Golden Knights are surrendering 51.6 points per-game and opponents are also shooting a league-worst 31.7 percent from the floor against them...Saint Rose has held five of its first 10 opponents to 50 points or less...The Golden Knights additionally pace the NE-10 in blocks (4.9 bpg) and 3FG% defense (21.8)...Six players are contributing at least 5.0 points per-game led by Rath, who tosses in 17.9 points on a regular basis for the fifth-highest scoring average in the league...Rath is also shooting 42.4 percent (25-for-59) from the arc and 83.3 percent (40-for-48) from the stripe...She ranks second and 10th in the conference in both categories...Senior guard Ola Shajuyigbe (11.1 ppg) is also contributing twin-figures, while senior forward Ali Johnson is adding 9.6 points, a team-high 8.5 rebounds and a league-best 2.5 blocks.
Scouting Bloomfield (3-6)
The Lady Deacons dropped a pair on their southern swing to North Carolina two weeks ago after winning their previous two outings...Bloomfield ranks second in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in steals (12.4 spg) and offensive rebounds (18.9); and is fourth in blocks (4.1 bpg)...Sophomore forward Lauren Deverin leads a balanced attack that does not feature a double-digit scorer...Deverin is tossing in 9.6 points and hauling in 8.1 boards on a regular basis...The latter ranks ninth in the conference...Meanwhile, senior guard Vanessa Lamison is contributing 8.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 49.1 percent from the floor...She is eighth in the CACC in field goal percentage.

The Golden Knights lead the all-time series against the Lady Deacons 6-1...Saint Rose took a 63-58 triumph in Bloomfield last November...The Golden Knights are unbeaten (3-0) at home against the Lady Deacons...Their lone loss in the series came via a 70-69 setback at American International back in 2007.

The Golden Knights have found great success at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium since its renovation prior to the 2004-05 season...Saint Rose has posted a 72-24 home slate for a .750 winning percentage...Furthermore, the Golden Knights have defeated five ranked opponents on their home floor, including twice last season.
