ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team wraps up its 2011 home slate this afternoon. The Golden Knights are set to host Saint Michael's College at 1:00 pm at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium where they have put together a 4-3 record this year. Prior to today's contest, five seniors will be honored with a brief ceremony commemorating their contributions to the Saint Rose women's volleyball program.

Saint Rose rallied from a set down to take a 3-2 (19-25, 25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 22-20) victory at Saint Michael's College last October 16. The Golden Knights fought off three match points and senior outside hitter
Sarah Kahrs punctuated the triumph for Saint Rose with one of her season-high 19 kills off a feed from senior setter
Theresa Staulo. Staulo delivered a solid all-around performance herself. She finished with 45 assists, eight digs, six kills and four aces.
The Purple Knights received outstanding efforts from Lindsey Frazier and sophomore middle hitter Chelsey Covitz. Frazier hit .424 with 17 kills and a mere three errors in 33 attempts, while Covitz had a .433 hitting percentage with 15 kills and just two errors in 30 swings.
Scouting Saint Rose (11-8/6-4 NE-10)
The Golden Knights played host to Saint Anselm College last night, which took place after this program was printed. Prior to that, Saint Rose was forced to play all five sets over its previous four outings and had gone the distance seven times this season. The Golden Knights own a 3-4 mark in those matches.
Saint Rose is hitting a collective .206, which ranks second in the conference, while holding their foes to a .141 hitting percentage.
Senior outside hitter
Aubrey Bobo is second in the league in hitting percentage (.354) and kills per-set (3.75). Bobo has chalked up an impressive 1,113 kills throughout her collegiate career at Siena and Saint Rose. Freshman libero
Katy Daniels has piloted the defensive unit thus far. Daniels leads the squad and stands second in the conference with 4.42 digs per-set (327 digs). She has also served up a team-high 26 aces.
Additionally, sophomore middle hitter
Alex Gagliano is among the league leaders in blocks. She is putting up an even 1.00 blocks per-set, which is the third-highest average in the NE-10.
Scouting Saint Michael's (14-14/3-8 NE-10)
The Purple Knights traveled to Le Moyne College last night, which took place after this program was printed. Prior to that, Saint Michael's had dropped three in a row and seven of its last eight. Covitz has been one of the top hitters in the NE-10 thus far. Covitz ranks third in the league behind a team-leading .321 hitting percentage. She is also producing 2.75 kills per-set (264 kills).
Meanwhile, junior outside hitter Katie Walsh has been stellar behind the service line. She is currently second in the conference behind 0.58 aces per-set (54 aces).

Both squads return to action Tuesday evening. Saint Rose heads to Assumption College, while Saint Michael's plays host to Middlebury College. Both contests are set to begin at 7:00 pm.
