ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose defeated Assumption 3-0 to earn a Northeast-10 Conference sweep tonight in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. Saint Rose claimed the straight-set victory by margins of 25-18, 25-20, and 26-24.
Senior outside hitter
Jessica Vargas led all players with 12 kills to pace a Golden Knights attack that recorded a .255 hitting percentage as a team.
Junior middle blocker
Julia Cavalcanti registered eight kills, while sophomore middle blockers
Joanna Forrest and
Teresa Moulder added six kills apiece. Senior middle blocker
Karleigh Fripp totaled five kills and seven blocks.
Junior
Madelyn Avery had 23 digs and the setting duo of freshman
Taylor Grady and sophomore
Alandra Hasbrouck combined for 36 assists.
The Golden Knights will take the weekend off before facing Mercy in a home non-conference matchup next Tuesday at 7:00 pm. Assumption next travels to Babson on Friday night.
