ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team overcame a three-point deficit in the fifth and final set to walk away with a 3-2 (26-28, 25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 15-13) Northeast-10 Conference victory over visiting Saint Anselm College tonight at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. It marked the fifth time in as many outings the Golden Knights were forced to go the distance.
The Hawks (7-15/2-9 NE-10) went up 7-4 in the final frame, but junior outside hitter
Kaitlyn Jasnica sparked a 6-2 run with a kill that put Saint Rose up one, 10-9. Saint Anselm later regained a slim 13-12 edge, but freshman setter
Ariana Wilson converted a looping a free ball that provided the final momentum for the Golden Knights, who closed things out with an ace from sophomore middle hitter

Saint Rose (12-8/7-4 NE-10) kept pace in the NE-10 standings behind tonight's balanced effort. The Golden Knights enter their final four matches of the regular season in a tie for seventh place. The top-eight teams earn a spot in the upcoming league tournament.
Senior outside hitter
Aubrey Bobo was one of four Saint Rose players to record eight or more kills tonight. Bobo led all players with 18 kills. Meanwhile, senior middle hitter
Chelsea Tyler chipped in nine kills and eight total blocks. Jasnica and senior outside hitter
Sarah Kahrs added eight kills apiece.
Freshman libero
Katy Daniels and defensive specialist
Tori Daniels piloted the defense. Katy picked up 23 digs, while Tori had 10 digs to go along with 24 assists.
Sophomore outside hitter Kyla Gustavson was one of three players to reach double-digits in kills for the Hawks. Gustavson threw down 16 kills and also registered 17 digs. Meanwhile, freshman setter Natalie Steinwart coupled 53 assists with 10 digs.
Both squads return to action tomorrow afternoon with a pair of league matches on tap. Saint Rose is set to host Saint Michael's College on 'Senior Day', while Saint Anselm heads west to Le Moyne College. Both contests are slated to start at 1:00 pm.
