MANCHESTER, NH – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team erased an early 1-0 deficit by forcing 25 errors by host Southern New Hampshire University compared to just 15 of its own throughout the final four sets on the way to a 3-2 (20-25, 25-11, 25-14, 22-25, 15-6) Northeast-10 Conference triumph over the Penmen tonight at SNHU Fieldhouse. The Golden Knights snapped a three-match skid in the process, while Southern New Hampshire has now dropped five in a row.
Senior outside hitter
Aubrey Bobo was her usual solid self for Saint Rose (11-7/6-3 NE-10). Bobo finished one shy of her season-high with 21 kills to go along with six digs, three blocks and a pair of aces. Senior outside hitter
Sarah Kahrs and sophomore middle hitter
Alex Gagliano also had good outings for the Golden Knights. Kahrs contributed 10 kills and seven digs, while Gagliano threw down a season-best eight kills and had four blocks.
In the back row, freshman libero
Katy Daniels continued her standout rookie campaign for Saint Rose. Daniels picked up a career-best 32 digs. Her twin sister,
Tori Daniels chipped in with 25 assists and eight digs.
For the Penmen (4-12/2-7 NE-10), junior outside hitter Erica Solomon and senior middle hitter Danielle Coffey paved the way with eight kills apiece. Solomon also led Southern New Hampshire with 13 digs, while Coffey added six blocks.
Both clubs get back to action tomorrow with a pair of NE-10 matches on the schedule. Saint Rose heads to Franklin Pierce University for a 1:00 pm start. Meanwhile, Southern New Hampshire is set to host Le Moyne College at 4:00 pm.
